Window City, was called on to be part of a $54 million rehabilitation project at Printworks Mill in Greensboro, NC. One of the few remaining sizeable buildings in Greensboro, this historic mill is filled with American history dating back to 1913. The mill was completely renovated from a dusty, empty textile factory to a five star, state-of-the-art, rustic apartment condominium with variety of different shops and restaurants for tenant entertainment.
The adaptive reuse of this building required extreme attentiveness. Window City's crew carefully installed more than 550 massive steel replica windows weighing over 500 pounds each throughout the 470,000 square-foot building. These windows were custom designed to fit and maintain the building's historical, industrious charm and compliment the interior and exterior momentous features. The enormous windows serve as a staple to the building's exterior appeal. Both energy efficient and modern the windows easily enhance the building's entire facelift.
